Mike, currently Vice-President of Accountants and Tax Agents Institute of New Zealand (ATAINZ), is a taxation specialist having worked at Inland Revenue for 12 years and being awarded the annual advanced taxation prize from Waikato University. He is also a published author of an article on land taxation in New Zealand (June 2011).
After a further 12 years in public practice his passion for business is invigorating. From business plans to cash flows, financial analysis and business structures your interests will be well served.
Mike has a background in manufacturing industries (3years) and transport (15 years), including several years as an urban transport planner, and lastly in commercial realty (2 years) business broking and valuations.
If you have a bent for sports that's definitely another passion. A lifetime of activity in playing, coaching and administration for a range of sports is often an ice-breaker for communication.
Jaya has been a New Zealand resident since 2002 and joined our team in 2012 after spending 4 years as a sole practitioner operating from Papamoa.
She completed a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce in 1996 with both degrees being cross-credited by the NZ Qualifications Authority. She specialises in tier 3 and 4 review work for non profit organisations and has a sound knowledge of New Zealand taxation law after completing the first of two papers offered through the polytechnic and Waikato University. Jaya is a Xero certified Advisor.
Jaya is married to Sachin, a local mechanical engineer, and has a daughter attending university and a son attending a local college.
Karen started with us in October 2018 after a stint at another local accounting firm. She has a background specialising in Xero and is quickly assimilating knowledge in our MYOB range of products. Karen completed her Bachelor of Business Analysis majoring in Accounting in 2017. Karen is bilingual speaking both her native tongue Filipino and English. She intends to proceed with completing papers towards becoming a Chartered Accountant
